Coin Enthusiasts Cash in Early on Shop at Home's February Offerings

Business Wire

Coin enthusiasts in line for the first Presidential $1 coin can rest easy. Shop At Home television network announces it's now the first retailer to sell and ship the George Washington Presidential coins, which were just released to the network. Washington will be one of four Presidential coins to be issued this year with Presidents Adams, Jefferson and Madison following quarterly.

"As a personal collector and the host of The Coin Vault on Shop At Home, I'm anxious to get my hands on all of these coins and offer them to people everywhere," says Skip Connelly who has been in the business for 24 years. "I think the Presidential $1 coins are an extremely fascinating way to get people started in coin collecting. Similar to the 50 State Quarters program, the coins provide a special opportunity to educate our children about American history. In this case, my hope is that kids everywhere will soon know about all of the US Presidents."

Also targeted to be released soon are the American Gold Eagle Proofs, the Sacagawea Golden Dollar and the Kennedy Half-Dollar. The American Gold Eagle Proofs depict a historic $20 gold piece designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and was minted from 1907-1933. The coin will be distributed in four denominations: $5, $10, $25 and $50. The Sacagawea Golden Dollar made its original debut in 2000. The upcoming release will once again feature the Native American Shoshone who served as interpreter and guide to Lewis and Clark. The Kennedy Half-Dollar, originally minted in 1964, will also be available in the near future to coin enthusiasts.
