Wayne Epperly, an oil painter from Greensboro, is April's Artist of the Month at Eden City Hall.
Trained at the Gloucester Academy of Fine Arts in Massachusettes, Epperly is a full-time artist who also does sculpture and pottery.
His works have been displayed in collections throughout the United States and Europe. In the Triad, his work has been included in the Art Mongerz Gallery, Marshall Gallery and the Eastern Standard Gallery, all in Greensboro, as well as the Solo Gallery in Winston-Salem and the Alamance County Arts Council in Graham.
Epperly was an art instructor at Alamance Community College in Haw River from 1981 to 1991 and was the tapestry art director for Riddle & Cockrell, a gift and home-accent retail company in Burlington, from 1991 to 1995.
His work also has been shown at the Weatherspoon Gallery at UNCG, the Greensboro Artist League, the Greenhill Center and at a show sponsored by the High Point Arts Council.
His work also has appeared in the magazines Old Cars Weekly and Car & Driver.
He has produced commercial art for NASCAR and his work has been featured on QVC, the home shopping network.
Epperly's latest exhibit runs from May 1 to June 1 at the Solo Gallery in Winston-Salem.
He maintains a studio at the Art Mongerz Gallery in Greensboro. {SEND} YES
