Fairfield, IA - hawthorne direct, the direct response TV advertising agency, has enlisted Loren B. Skagen as director of new media marketing.

Skagen is coordinating all interactive and electronic marketing services for hawthorne direct.

He boasts 20 years of DRTV experience. Skagen has been a key player in the success of several top companies marketing via Short-Form, Long-Form and Live Shopping. He has boosted sales via Internet opportunities (i.e. websites, email direct marketing), print and radio. He was most recently with VIT as the marketing director where he developed television and radio direct response commercials and increased online revenue.

He has also served as senior vice president, strategy & operations, where he managed operations, MIS and media departments. There he sought new business and developed and managed existing clients. He directed media buying strategy and executed buying campaigns.

Skagen was the director of infomercial marketing and later the senior director of new media/Internet director of new media for American Marketing Systems, Inc., known for the Carleton Sheets Real Estate Home Study Course, and was responsible for overall profit/loss and maximizing the ROI for the infomercial. While there he integrated internal and external call centers, implemented changes to optimize inbound scripting and reduced fulfillment costs.

He has also been the director of marketing for Downs' Collectors Showcase and was the associate marketing manager for Sears, Roebuck & Co., Catalog Direct Response.

He has his MBA in marketing from Benedictine University and BA in in marketing/economics from Bethel University.

Skagen will work out of hawthorne direct’s headquarters in Fairfield, Iowa. He resides in Fairfield, Iowa.
