Lisa Cox gets her shot at faux fame at 1 a.m. Wednesday.
That's when the Greensboro faux-finish queen gets a live 10- minute appearance on the Home Shopping Network.
She gets another 10-minute spot at noon that day.
She'll be pitching her Fast Faux Texture Kit, which features a DVD on how to faux-paint furniture and how to do suede, Tuscan, stencil and cloud finishes on walls.
The kit, which retails for $29.99, includes a chart showing how to match base and faux coats, a fleur de lis stencil and gold stencil paint.
Cox, whose faux striping kits can be found in Greensboro's Sherwin-Williams stores, has tried for two years to get on Florida- based HSN. She'll travel to the studio in St. Petersburg to make her appearances.
"They want to make me their faux expert," she says, adding, "if I sell."
Closer to home, Cox will give free demonstrations May 20-22 in the Sherwin-Williams booth at Showplace, 211 E. Commerce Ave., High Point. Call 456-4094 for more information.
She'll also participate in a free home improvement day at the Guilford College Sherwin-Williams store on May 28.
