EGT, Inc., delivering the world's best digital video experience, today announced that it has entered into a strategic reseller agreement with SeaChange International (Nasdaq: SEAC). This partnership combines the Companies' best-in-class technologies to offer television companies on-demand television and advertising solutions with pre-packaged support from SeaChange.
The EGT line of high-quality video encoders has been incorporated into SeaChange's Axiom Recording Service(TM) real-time content capture system and SeaChange QuickSilver Input Workstation(TM) content ingest solution. EGT encoders incorporate sophisticated algorithms and advanced preprocessing techniques to produce the highest-quality coded video at the lowest bit rate, making them ideal for encoding mission-critical on-demand and advertising content. Built with a cost-effective, modular design, they are programmable, upgradeable and the components are hot swappable. This innovative design enables service providers to change and upgrade EGT encoders as their systems grow.
Using standards-based EGT encoders, SeaChange QuickSilver transforms ads into digital assets for insertion across television channels and on-demand streams. SeaChange's Axiom Recording Service automates the entire recording process, from capturing the video content, to generating metadata from television schedule information (including TVG, TV Data and Nielsen) and securely propagating assets to servers and updating electronic program guides to reflect changes in on-demand line-ups.
