cleaning products, air purifiers, household and industrial cleaning
supplies sold through 450 Oreck retail stores across the US and
direct response.
Since last week, 45-year-old, family operated Oreck Corporation purchased new mobile housing units for employees; contracted for food, water and supplies; purchased generators and storage tanks, thousands of gallons of diesel fuel. "All to help our 500 Mississippi employees start to rebuild their lives," Oreck said. "We will ensure they have safe and sanitary housing, food, water and a paycheck," he said. "If they were an Oreck employee before the hurricane they still have a job," said Oreck President and CEO Tom Oreck.
Factory Reopening Agenda Starting at 2 PM Friday September 9, 2005:
(1) restart of the factory and manufacturing.
(2) distribution of full payroll to 500+ hourly employees.
(3) direction of employees to the various "needs" tables (such as
insurance claims, crisis management counselors etc.)
(4) start of the on site housing program.
(5) announcement of the Oreck Employee Relief Program. Oreck Corp is
seeding this fund with $500,000.
