Direct Impact Group Contracts With Teletrax for Direct Response Television Ad Tracking and Verification; Expansive Market Coverage Enables Delivery of Comprehensive Results

Business Wire

Teletrax, the global television intelligence service, today announced that Direct Impact Group, a full-service direct marketing firm, has signed an agreement to electronically track short- and long-form airings of its direct response television advertisements. A subsidiary of Medialink Worldwide Incorporated (Nasdaq: MDLK), Teletrax offers the first and only digital video watermarking and content monitoring service that provides vital broadcast usage information on a global scale to video providers, such as entertainment studios, news organizations, TV syndicators, and the advertising industry. Teletrax is a joint venture between Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands (NYSE: PHG) and Medialink.

Under terms of the agreement, Direct Impact Group will use the Teletrax(TM) suite of broadcast verification services to monitor and track spot market airings of its short and long-form direct response programming. The company will integrate Teletrax data into its proprietary media analysis system to provide clients with more comprehensive information on their marketing efforts. Teletrax's media intelligence solutions provide direct response agencies with unparalleled speed and accuracy in the tracking of commercials and long-form programming, commonly known as 'infomercials', resulting in more immediate and precise ad campaign monitoring.

"Our business is continuously evolving, and our partnership with Teletrax enables us to provide clients with an all-inclusive picture on where and when their direct response programming is airing," said Andrew Gordon, president of Direct Impact Group. "The data delivered by Teletrax will significantly strengthen our ability to provide a complete analysis on overall campaign performance, further demonstrating the synergistic relationship between Teletrax and the core of our business, which is committed to accountability and measurable results."

"Direct Impact Group's dedication to client service is evidenced by its unique approach to marketing, and Teletrax is proud to partner with an organization devoted to helping clients become well-known leaders in their space," said Andy Nobbs, president of Teletrax. "Direct Impact Group's commitment to providing quantifiable results to clients fits in perfectly with Teletrax's philosophy, and we are pleased to add a company that upholds such standards to our roster of clients in the direct response space."

Teletrax provides critical broadcast, cable and satellite television data to video content providers, such as entertainment companies, news organizations, TV syndicators, and the advertising industry. The company currently maintains a proprietary network of detectors that monitor the television broadcasts of nearly 1,300 channels from more than 50 nations, including the top 150 markets in the United States, representing more than 90% of all U.S. television households. Its international network comprises monitoring stations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, South and Central America, and Canada.

Launched in 2002 as a service developed by a joint venture between Philips and Medialink, with an underlying technology that is patent-protected both by Philips and Digimarc Corp. (Nasdaq: DMRC), Teletrax delivers online reports of individual broadcast airings in near real-time to each client's custom-designed portal or in data file transfers. Each client's broadcast activity is updated dynamically, 24 hours a day, enabling clients to respond immediately to reported results such as changes in end-user preferences or detections of unauthorized use.

Entertainment, news and media organizations both within and outside of the United States that have also contracted to use Teletrax for the tracking of news video, advertising or promotional content include BBC, Buena Vista Television, ABC Television Network, FOX Broadcasting Company, Tribune Entertainment, NBC News Channel, The NBC Agency, NBC Universal Television, Reuters Television, the United Nations, Advanced Results Marketing, Mercury Media, Euro RSCG 4D DRTV, Media Review International, and Medialink. A number of other companies are also in active trials with the Teletrax service.
