MARKET WIRE
Legend Studios, Inc., a subsidiary of Legend Mobile, Inc. (OTC BB: LGMB), today announced that it has entered into a deal with Mantra Films, Inc., the owner and operator of the world-famous Girls Gone Wild franchise. Under the terms of the deal, Legend Studios will air Girls Gone Wild's titillating radio commercial spots and receive a profit participation in certain of the merchandise sold through a dedicated 800 number.
"We are very excited to be bringing our listeners Girls Gone Wild. This is a fantastic way to monetize our airtime inventory and have fun doing it," said Peter Klamka, President of Legend Studios, Inc.
Mantra Films, Inc. is the leading producer and distributor of reality-based programming worldwide. Formed in 1997, Mantra recognized the opportunity to develop reality-based, direct-to-consumer video titles that did not fit the traditional mold of studio-distributed product. The company has established its reputation by creating key franchises such as Girls Gone Wild, which captures real, adventurous young women going wild against settings such as Mardi Gras and Spring Break.
Millions have purchased a Girls Gone Wild title -- there are more than 200 --and even more have seen one of the infomercials, making it a bona fide pop-culture phenomenon. Mantra has begun to parlay that extraordinarily powerful brand name into many other avenues. Currently, a fictionalized major motion picture with MGM, a restaurant chain, and a line of apparel are all in the works for Girls Gone Wild. A compilation record with Jive is currently available in record stores nationwide.
Legend Studios currently operates eight stations in four states. It is committed to acquiring and developing broadcast properties in radio and television.
ROAR, an integrated media company that specializes in talent management and film and television production, brought the parties together and manages brands for Mantra. Together with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., ROAR is producing, marketing and distributing the movie Girls Gone Wild, and it recently worked with Mantra on Girls Gone Wild Music Volume 1, a music compilation with Jive Records.
