  • Lakewood, a non-denominational Christian church, recently became the first congregation in the country with an average weekly attendance of more than 30,000 for its services _ and had an average attendance of 32,500 in the first quarter of this year, said John Vaughan of Church Growth Today, an organization that studies megachurches, based in Bolivar, Missouri.
