- Television broadcaster Paxson Communications Corp. is changing its name to Ion Media Networks Inc.
- "The name means a new start for the company," Chief Executive Brandon Burgess said Tuesday.
- The broadcaster, which began doing business under the new Ion name Tuesday, also unveiled a new logo: The Paxson crowned lion, holding a shield emblazoned with the letter P, is being replaced by the word "ion" in white letters, with a black dot on the "i" in front of a black and blue background.

- Mar. 1--Jewelry Television announced Tuesday that it will delay until 2008 construction of a planned $20 million, 300,000-square-foot headquarters at Pellissippi Corporate Center.
- The Knoxville-based 24-hour shopping network originally planned to start construction of the new headquarters this spring and occupy the building in 2007.
- To take care of its current space needs, the company has leased the former Peeble's warehouse, a 112,000-square-foot building at Parkside Drive and Hayfield Road that is about one mile from the current Jewelry Television headquarters at 10001 Kingston Pike.

- Charter Communications Inc., the largest cable television and broadband services company in the state, announced it is selling its cable systems in West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky and Illinois in two separate deals valued at $896 million.
- Charter is selling its West Virginia and Virginia systems to Cebridge Acquisition Co. Cebridge's systems are managed by Cequel III Limited Liability Co. of St. Louis and operate under the trade name Cebridge Connections.

- Despite concerns that WSAZ-TV, Charleston and Huntington's NBC affiliate, would be dropped from a local cable company's lineup, the station will remain on the air, for now, WSAZ's station manager said Wednesday.
- "As in any negotiation, everybody asks for something," station manager Jack Deakin said.
- WSAZ was scheduled to be pulled from Adelphia Communications' cable lineup on Wednesday because of retransmission consent negotiations, Deakin said.
