Musicians from a variety of genres will interpret songs written by beloved PBS personality Fred Mr. Rogers for a charity album.
Songs From the Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers will include tracks from Donna Summer, Roberta Flack, Ricky Skaggs, Amy Grant, CeCe Winans B.J. Thomas, Bobby Caldwell, Crystal Gayle, John Pizzarelli, Jon Secada, Maureen McGovern and Toni Rose, Billboard.com reported Friday.
Flack and Secada each offer a version of Won't You Be My Neighbor and Thomas tackles It's Such a Good Feeling.
The album will be offered over the TV shopping channel QVC next month and distributed to retail outlets in November. All sales will benefit the Fred Rogers Fund.
Rogers died in 2003 at age 74. His Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, which made its debut in 1967, was the longest running program in PBS history.
