Food Network celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse returns to Shop At Home Network with a 'BAM!' this weekend for From Emeril's Kitchen, the second live network appearance for the chef this year. The two-day event will air in segments September 24 at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, and on September 25 at 11 a.m. ET. A third From Emeril's Kitchen Shop At Home event is slated for the holiday season.
This weekend's event will feature Lagasse as host, dishing up delectable recipes while demonstrating his favorite kitchenware products available at Shop At Home. All products featured on From Emeril's Kitchen are hand-picked favorites of the chef, many of which he uses regularly on his top-rated Food Network show, Emeril Live!
Making their debut on From Emeril's Kitchen is a new version of the chef's own Emerilware cookware collection, exclusive knife sets designed specifically by Lagasse for sale on Shop At Home, and Emerilware by Wedgwood, a brand new collection of Emeril-inspired Wedgwood dinnerware, oven-to-table dishes and woodenware pieces. Also making first appearances are a new cookbook detailing the heritage and recipes of Lagasse's Delmonico restaurant, and the new Emeril's Signature Coffee collection, including bold flavors like "Vanilla Bean Bam!" and "New Orleans Blend". Lagasse's very own brand of durable kitchen clogs and 'BAM!'-emblazoned aprons in adult and child sizes also will be available.
"Emeril is one of the most recognizable and popular talents on television, inspiring millions of people to toss their inhibitions and get into kitchen," said Shop At Home President Judy Girard. "It's because of this energy and enthusiasm that Emeril's faithful fans have asked how to find the products he uses on air to best recreate the recipes and techniques he demonstrates. From Emeril's Kitchen is the perfect platform for Emeril to combine his desire to teach with his passion to share products that make cooking easy."
The third From Emeril's Kitchen Shop At Home event is slated for the first weekend in December, with a whole new array of product demonstrations and easy-to-make holiday recipes. In the meantime, viewers can tune in to Shop At Home to get a regular dose of Emeril-inspired programming with the From Emeril's Kitchen weekly series, airing live on Saturdays at 11 a.m. ET. Hosted by Lagasse-trained sous chef Jim Napolitano, the segments feature Lagasse's favorite kitchen equipment, used to make fun, flavorful dishes around creative cooking themes like cooking with kids and holiday entertaining. Napolitano also is joined by Lagasse on the series, via taped appearances from his New Orleans test kitchen.
Perhaps the most exciting facet to Lagasse's Shop At Home appearances is his new online store and recipe resource, available everyday at Shopathometv.com. At the Emeril store, viewers can find all of the merchandise showcased by Lagasse on Shop At Home, along with detailed recipe instructions for all dishes created on air. In addition, every printable recipe contains a listing of the exact kitchenware products used by the chef to create each dish, making the Emeril store a practical, hands-on destination for viewers interested in perfecting Lagasse's dishes and cooking techniques. This weekend's live event will include recipes like Pan Fried Catfish with Andouille Smothered White Beans, Chicken and Smoked Sausage Gumbo, and Jitterbug's Bread Pudding with Rum Creme Anglaise, all available to viewers at Shopathometv.com.
"For the first time I'm truly bringing the process of cooking full circle for anyone who loves to experiment in the kitchen, or for someone who is just learning," said Lagasse. "All anyone has to do is just watch and shop From Emeril's Kitchen to get the tools and 'know how' needed to be your own chef. It's cooking made easy."
Shop At Home was acquired by Scripps Networks in 2002, parent company to five additional lifestyle television brands including Home & Garden Television and Food Network. Since that time Scripps has molded the retailer's merchandising mix to include more home-related and lifestyle-oriented products. Lagasse, who helped make Food Network one of the hottest properties in cable television, signed on to Shop At Home this year to help fortify the retailer's expanding kitchenware category, with his From Emeril's Kitchen specials, and regular, weekly segments bearing his name.
